July Reflection 2023

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a great day! To help wrap up this month of July, I am sharing with you all a list of ten questions and answers on how well I've been doing this month. Each month I like to make these reflections and learn what I can improve each month as well as continue doing the same strategy that worked for me in the past. If you all are eager to learn how my month went and what habits I can improve then, I hope you all will continue to read this post!

July reflection post

1. What went well this month? What did I accomplish?

What went well this month was working on my time management for both my summer course, blog, and relaxation. I was able to balance a lot of activities this month as well as spend time with friends and family. What I did accomplish this month was completing all my blog posts early and reading multiple books this month. I've been meaning to read more books this summer as I know I do not have as much as school starts.

2. What didn't go so well? How can I improve for next month?

What didn't go well this month was trying to keep up with my expenses and purchases. Usually, I am quite good at keeping up with how much and what I am spending, but this month I sort of pushed it to the side and didn't track much of it. I know for next month I will definitely improve upon this and try to track my expenses and purchases every week instead of just doing it in my free time as I know it will not get done.

3. How did I grow as a person?

This month I decided to learn to take care of myself more. I know that will summer coming to an end and school starts soon, I know that I will not have as many days off/ relaxation days as I would hope. I learned that taking time for myself is not a bad thing as well as taking good care of myself is super important. If I want to accomplish my goals, I know that I need my health in order to do so. So, each day I will take about 30 minutes to rest my mind whether this is catching up on a show or simply reading a book, this helped me to not feel burnt out and give myself a much-needed break from everything.

4. What challenges did I face this month?

One challenge I faced this month was not getting enough sleep. I've been trying to maintain a better routine of sleep especially when I don't have any school. I've been staying up late and not valuing my sleep schedule at all. I hope next month I can improve upon this and prioritize my sleep.

5. What am I spending too little or too much time on?

I'm spending too little time on my blog. I haven't been working as hard as I would have liked to on my blog as well as succeeding in goals that I have hoped for my blog. I had ideas and future content posts that I was hoping on posting but didn't get to them as much as hoped for. So, I hope for next month I can plan ahead and schedule posts for set dates instead of just running it freely.

6. Did I reach my goals this month?

Since one of my goals this month was to complete reading a book, I did achieve this goal! I was very happy doing so. As I said before in my last reflection post, I wanted to read 20 minutes a day and I did do so this month. I also was able to achieve my goal of wiring poetry. I knew last month I wanted to write more poetry especially, ones where I would view a picture and then write a poem about it to help improve my creativity. I was also able to accomplish and I am quite pleased with myself.

7. What made me feel grateful this month?

One thing that made me feel grateful this month was spending an entire day out with my best friend and family. Spending time with both of them made me realize how much I value these relationships and their support. I know I am very grateful to have them in my life and I simply enjoy being around them as they always give me support and lift my mood!

8. What habits should I continue to focus on?

A habit I should continue to focus on is writing my emotions instead of bottling them up as it affects my body. I have to say, the picture writing has surely helped me express what I am feeling and I am looking forward to writing more as well as letting my mind wander into different genres of books.

9. What did I do this month to take care of myself?

One way I took care of myself this month was by prioritizing taking breaks and letting myself relax. I was able to have multiple days off during the week and I sued that time to relax and catch up on what I needed to. I think it's a good habit for me to let myself relax 30 minutes before going to bed as I will not feel stressed or anxious about the next day's plans.

10. Overall, how would I rate my month?

Overall, I would give this month an 8 out of 10. I accomplished a lot of my goals this month and I prioritized myself instead of anyone else. I took time to read throughout the day, relax with tv, and spend time with loved ones. Though there are still some things I can improve on, I know that next month I start doing them differently as well as track my progress.
