May Reflection 2023

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a great day! I am sharing with you all another new post about my monthly recap. I've decided to try something new out by showing you all what a typical month looks like for me and what conflicts I have and how I deal with them. I hope you all enjoy reading this post!

1. What went well this month? What did I accomplish?

One thing that went well this month was completing my final semester at community college. Something I accomplished this month was graduating from community college and getting accepted into UMass Dartmouth!

2. What didn't so well? How can I improve for next month?

Something that didn't go so well this month was having writer's block for almost a month. Usually, it does not take me long to come up with an idea and write something, but this month it was quite challenging for me. I think a lot of it had to do with finishing my college courses, taking finals, working, and making sure all my credits could be transferred to another college. Something that did help with my writer's block was researching different writing/poetry prompts on the internet and starting from there. This helped me to break my writer's block, which only happened at the end of the month though.

3. How did I grow as a person?

I started valuing more time for friends and family (not saying I didn't before). I know that life goes by very quickly as I am starting to get older so, I know that I want to spend more time with people that I love. I'm starting to make more time and plans for when I can have a simple chat with loved ones and surround myself with good people!

4. What challenges did I face this month?

One challenge I faced this month was trying to ace my finals as well as applying as a transfer student to another college. The transfer student process was a bit difficult and confusing, but the staff at my college was very helpful. This made the process a bit easier and made me feel confident in myself. As far as the finals though, I have to say I impressed myself and did fairly well on them so, they were not something I didn't need to stress over.

5. What am I spending too little or too much time on?

I think I'm spending too little time reading books that I enjoy. I tend to start reading books after I finish one, but lately, I've been wanting to read more books that suit my interest instead of being influenced by others. So, I think I'll start by searching up book genres that I like and go from there.

6. Did I reach my goals this month?

Yes, I did reach my goals this month as one of my goals was to be accepted into UMass Dartmouth. Another one of my goals this month was to apply for a summer course to help me stay ahead of my credits.

7. What made me feel grateful this month?

Something that made me feel grateful this month was hanging out with family and friends over dinner. I love having quality time with loved ones and friends and it makes me feel grateful that I have amazing people around me.

8. What habits should I continue to focus on?

One habit I should continue to focus on is prioritizing my sleep. I've been starting to get back into a normal sleep schedule hence, not having school at the moment definitely helps!

9. What did I do this month to take care of myself?

One thing I did to take care of myself is take multiple self-care days a week. usually after work or after school I will work on assignments or tasks that I need to get ahead of. I'll estimate what time I'm aiming to go to bed and schedule at least 30 minutes of downtime for myself. Whether this is reading, writing, or watching my favorite show, this helps me to relax and reward myself at the same time.

10. Overall, how would I rate my month?

Overall, my month had many achievements and accomplishments and I have to say I'm quite proud of myself for handling so much on my plate. Though it wasn't always sunshine and rainbows, especially with my college workload, I proved to myself that I can accomplish whatever I put my mind to. Overall, I would give this month a seven out of ten.

Thank you all very much for reading this post! I hope this inspires you all to take some time and reflect upon your month! I have more posts planned for next month and I cannot wait to share them with you all! Also, stay tuned for an exciting announcement coming soon! I hope you all have a great day and I will see you all in the next post!
