Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful day! Today, I am sharing with you all some tips on how to save money during the summer. All these tips can be applied to your everyday lives as well and hopefully these tips will get you motivated to save your money!
1) Follow 50/30/20 Rule
If you have a summer job, put away some of your money in your savings account, some of it towards spending money, and the other towards necessities. I recommend using the 50/30/20 rule.
This helps to split your money and know how much money is going into each account and how much money you should be spending.
2) Record Your Money Spending
This is super important! Each month record all your spending and add it up.
This helps you know how much money you are exactly spending each month and helps you stick to a budget.
3) Only Take Out a Certain Amount of Money Per Month
Stick to a budget, like I am only going to spend $200 per month.
It also helps to only use cash so, you know you will not going over budget.
4) Skip the Car Wash
Do it yourself.
Way cheaper and saves you $50-100.
5) Sell Used Clothes, Furniture, etc.
There are so many places and websites that you can sell your items and make a profit out of them.
6) Try Not To Eat Out Often
If you have a job, pack your lunch!
You can save so much money from this anywhere from $100-300 over the course of the season.
7) Spend Smart
Spend money on things you only really need.
Yes, it is okay to splurge on yourself every once in while.
8) Go and Have Fun With Free or Cheap Activities
There are so many options out there like, going to the beach, riding bikes, going out to get some ice cream, etc.
These are all examples of cheap and fun summer activities that you can do that are simple and will definitely help you save some money this summer!
