Somewhere

Hello everyone and hello to the first blog post of 2023!! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year! In this post, I am sharing with you all a new poem. This poem is about the constant pull of life and how difficult life can be sometimes. We often strive for the old world we lived in as kids and often ponder over the memories of our childhood. But with a changed mindset and realization that we are starting to grow older, we learn to grow with the world we live in and find ways to break the cycle of our old ways to appreciate the present. I hope you all enjoy reading this poem!

Somewhere

Deprived eyes,

Sleepless nights, and a

Worrisome mind.

Each day feels it is wasted.

Each year feels the same.

Though I’m getting older,

I still crave for what I had as a kid,

My utopian world.

Every day I wake up and go to work.

Do the same thing over and over again.

I watch the clock’s hand pass by each number

So, I can finally go home and feel like an actual person.

Someone who actually has hobbies and enjoys what they do.

Instead, I take long showers and ponder about my life like,

How quickly things have changed since I was a kid.

How little I knew back then and how blindsided I was by this world.

I think about how little I was in this big world we live in.

I think about the times I felt sad or worried about my future.

I tend to worry about my unknown future,

But I still dwell on my past.

I know I need to live in the present

And appreciate what I have now.

But it’s hard to do that when everything around you will soon change.

Everything you know will be gone.

I know I’ll have to start new

Mixed with old memories and new ones to be formed.

I know some days will be better than others.

I also know my mindset will be growing.

My attitude will change in better ways and

Hopefully, I’ll stay strong.

I’ll keep pushing myself forward and

Welcome new challenges with open arms.

Every challenge is a learning experience for me.

I learn to become stronger, wiser, and smarter.

I also learn to not make the same mistake again.

I like to learn about the world

And how gradually it has changed since I was a kid.

I love to listen to people and their stories

And I love to listen to music to help cope with my life.

I’ve learned so much about my utopian world as a young adult.

So, the next time I feel tired,

I’ll know it’s because of lack of sleep.

When I know I was restless,

I’ll read a book or drink tea.

When I feel worried,

I’ll calm myself down with thoughts of how far I’ve come.

Each new year will come with different challenges and achievements and

Now I know I am one step away from becoming wiser with age.

Thank you all very much for reading this poem! I am very excited for the new posts I have planned for this month and I cannot wait to share them with you all! So, stay tuned for new blog posts coming soon! I hope you all have a great rest of your week and I will see you all in the next post!
